The 23rd edition of "The Golden Homes Swimfest" made waves on October 13th–15th, 2023, at the Sir Owen Glenn Aquatic Centre. With over 550 competitors racing, this highly anticipated event brings together swimmers, converging at the pool with a common goal: to showcase their talents and achieve personal bests.

Out of the 23 teams representing various swimming clubs, Mt Wellington performed superbly by securing 12th place. Congratulations to all the swimmers! Well done to our top score achievers, Jonathan Bao (89) and Kento Wangford (81).  

Here are some key achievements and highlights from the meet:

• YiFan Zhang's (13) qualification in the 50Free and 50Back for the 2024 National Age Group Championship (NAGS) in Hawke's Bay.
• Jonathan Bao (11), 1st for 100 FLY, 2nd for 200 FR.
• Kento Wangford (12), 1st for 100 FLY, 2nd for 50 FLY.
• Gariad Chan (12) 2nd 100 FR and 200 FR
• Yuke Chan (17) 2nd 200 BR
• Daniel Hu (13) achieved 100% PB in all races - 50, 100 and 200 FR
• Kymond Chan (13) PB'd in 100 and 200 FR
• Liam Jones's (14) return to competition after an injury —his confidence and 100% PB achievement in five races was commendable.
