Meet Report
Parnell L3 4th August – St Cuthbert’s Centennial Pool
Ten hardy MTW swimmers braved the terrible weather to turn out for the Parnell L3 meet early on Sunday morning.
For once all our entrants made the starting line.
Three more swimmers made it to L2 at this meet.
Tilly Arasaratnam put in a great performance in the 100 breaststroke for a 9.53 second PB, 1st in age and a L2 qualifying time by 4 seconds.
Nathan Diao in his first swim in his first meet cleared out from the rest the swimmers in his heat to go 2.16 under the L2 qualifying time and took 3 1sts a 2nd and 3rd in age in his races on the day.
Our other L2 qualifier was Toby Schuller who swam a steady backstroke race to clear the qualifying time by 2.79 seconds. Well done the 3 of you.
Our other swimmers all swam well and my comments in alphabetical order are:
Evisa Arasaratnam swam very well in the 50 back for a 2.61 second and posted a good time for 1st time out in the 100IM.
Allan Croucher continued to show the benefits of consistent training to post a whopping 12.91 PB in the 100 breast and move his backstroke time to only 12.11 second away form the L2 QT.
Fiona Gould arrived just in time to mount the starting blocks for her 100 fr but that did not stop her swimming well to be only 4.48 seconds of L2.
Reagan Liang was our only swimmer to notch 100% PBs the best of them being an excellent 14.63 in his 100 free.
Another 3.5 second PB in the 100 free took Kento Wangford to only 3.17 seconds away from L2 and his 200IM was a credit given he was more than half a length in front of the next swimmer (Reagan).
Elliza Zenyi had no times to swim against but her age group placings reflected some good swims
While Mylan Zou crept ever closer to L2, her 0.36 PB in the 100 free took to less than 10 seconds from the qualifying time.
With only a small number of swimmers it was a fast meet with not much rest for the swimmers or our Team Manager Yoko Wangford and helper Chantelle Schuller; so thank you to both of you.
